Ouchies and other randomness

It has been brought to my attention that I am sucking in the blog updating department. It seems like nothing new is really going on! We are living la vida loco, or the life of a toddler who is constantly into exploring and adventures! See below picture to get a glimpse of the results of said exploring and adventures:

I think I see Scott in this picture of Ry:

Hummmm... what else have we been up to.. OH! Trying to get the backyard rid of all the dang stickers!! Ryan is such a help!

Oh, Ryan spent a little time behind bars...

And LASTLY! He sat still for 2 seconds FLAT to take a picture with mommy, albeit no smiling!

And for a fantastic send off how about a picture of the cutest boy EVER with the best smile EVER?!?!?!

Does This Fish Make Me Look Like a Redneck?

We are in Del Rio spending some great time with family! There has been fishing fun had by all! How many 16 month old kids do you know that have got to (been made to) ride a big ole catfish?!?!? If you were wondering.. yes I stunk like nasty fish, and yes I got a bath shortly after the above photo shoot!

Ryan's Latest...

This post is a little late! Seems I have been having this problem of poor time management. It feels like I never have enough time to do everything! I know that sounds nuts being that I am able to be a stay at home mom for now, but I am telling you that I DO NOT know where the time goes! I washed my sheets yesterday and forgot they were still in the washer when bedtime rolled around... things like that! Maybe I need to start writing things down. ANYWAY, Ryan had his cardiology appointment for his murmur he was born with. He still has it but his EKG was fine and the murmur is considered a functional heart murmur. He may have it forever but it will not affect him. He also had a check up with his pediatrician. He is 27 lbs 13 ozs and 35 inches tall! He has only gained one pound in the last 2 months which is unusual for him but he is walking.. well running :).... now so he is burning those calories! He is doing so well and getting so big! Back to the whole where is time going thing... I can't believe my baby is 16 months old!

Easter and New Cousin... Baby Kyle

I honestly don't know where the time is goin! I talked to Scott yesterday and even HE asked me when I was going to update our blog! We went up to Bellville for Easter to visit Auntie Jojo, Uncle Jamey, cousins Evan and Kyle, Papa, and Great-grandma Ruby Jo. I was a fantastic time even with all the chaos! Ry didn't feel too great on Easter but he had a good time none the less. He found that he loves basketballs and babies! Two new words he learned and hasn't quit repeating!

Staying Busy on the 3 Month Mark!!

Third month down! We are missing daddy terribley but have found that keeping busy helps pass the time! Today we went out to the Flour Bluff High School to enjoy the Special Olympics. It warmed my heart so much to see these special people have something so much fun to particiapte in. They were so excited to be able to perform and win awards. All in all it was just one of those moments when you get all mushy inside! Our friend Monte was helping hand out awards so his wife, Stacey, and daughter, Hendrix, went too! We had so much fun and I think the kiddos did too!

Then it was lunch, nap time, and BEACH TIME! The Montejano's, Ryan, and I loaded up and headed to Padre Island National Seashore! We all had a great time and we are planning on going again tomorrow or Monday!!

My How We Have Grown!!

Ryan's friend, Jovani, came over to play not to long ago and since he is still a lil fella, I got out Ryan's old chair for him to sit in. It was still out yesterday and Ryan wanted to play in it so I put him in it and at that moment realized just how big he has really gotten!! Here is a picture from yesterday and one from a year ago! Oh, Ryan wanted me to add a disclaimer. He was pooping in the first picture and didn't want his photograph taken BUT his mean ole momma thought the look he would get on his face while doing such was too funny not to capture! Where has our lil boy gone?!?!?!

We had a nice little treat this morning when we checked our email! We had more pictures from daddy! That is two days in a row! We miss him so, and it makes it that much harder to see what a horrible time he is having! ;)

Live from Kuwait!

Daddy, or Scott as some of you like to call him, finally sent us some pictures from his current deployment. As some of you know he is actually deployed with an Army unit this time which accounts for the different looking uniform. He continues to do well and is so thrilled that they formed a softball league over there so he gets to take part in his favorite activity (besides napping of course)! Some of you have asked if he needs or would like anything sent to him, and well... I asked and he said... wait for it.... wait for it.... COPENHAGEN! Can you believe it?? He swears up and down that the stuff they get overseas is different therefore making it unacceptable.

Ryan and I are doing well also, just passing the time until daddy comes home to us!

Reading other blogs....

I have to admit that part of the reason I have jumped on the blogging bandwagon is peer pressure... I have been introduced to so many fantastic, meaningful blogs. Although I don't know these people personally I find it kinda neat that they let me into their lives to pray for them when the going gets tough. People who know me know that I am a bit of a worrier (to say the least)! Well, a lot of the blogs I follow are those of families with sick children. I HATE to even imagine what these families are going through but once I read the blog of a family experiencing something awful I have to add it to my list and check for updates. My reason for this post is to explain that as well as I can and to explain the "Praying for Stellan" blinkie on our blog. I have followed her (MckMama) blog for months now and their youngest is going through some serious issues with his heart. I just cannot get this family out of my head and thoughts, not that I want to... If you are into this kinda thing, please, please, please keep this family in your thoughts and/or prayers.

Just a little back tracking...

We wanted to share some of Ryan's latest professional pictures because they are well.... SO STINKIN CUTE! My friend Tracy is a wonderful photographer here in Corpus. Check her out at http://www.sweetpeaphotography.typepad.com/. We can't wait for Ryan's Easter pictures!

Our Blogging Beginning!

So I am going to give this blogging thing a shot! So many of our friends are so good with it and it is so cool to be able to keep up with what is going on with our loved ones. Today marks almost the 3 month mark that Scott has been deployed. We hear from him often and he is doing very well. He is keeping busy with work, going to the gym, reading, and watching movies from what he says. As hard as it is being a single mom I would never trade with him and miss out on Ryan's daily life. Ryan is becoming quite the little pistol! He FINALLY decided at 14 months that he could walk! He is nearly running now... We have had our first walking accidents in the past couple of days that include a busted lip. You can note that in the pictures from today's Spring Eggstravanganza! The base sponsored the party and Ryan had a great time with his friends Hendrix and Jovani. We came home, had a quick lunch, and a nice 3 hour nap! Enjoy the pictures and until we post again... take care and be safe!

Love, Alana and Ryan
